How To Stay in an oTENTik with Parks Canada

I stayed at a Parks Canada oTENTik for the first time and here are my takeaways to help you have a great time.
I’d heard of them and wanted to stay in one but the timing hadn’t aligned with my schedule until now.
This was in mid-April in Point Pelee National Park as part of a weekend adventure in Ontario’s Windsor Essex region.

It's a unique experience that can be classified as "glamping" as you've got running water, toilets and showers on the grounds.
You can go solo, with your significant other, family or friends as oTENTik’s fit up to six people; four on the bottom section and two on the upper bunk.
There’s a BBQ on site, a fire pit for warming up and making S’mores, a couple of Muskoka chairs plus four other chairs inside that can be brought outside, the oTENTik is heated and a picnic table for outdoor dining.

I’ll give you an in-depth tour of the oTENTik, the grounds, the campground office and hopefully, you’ll be inspired to book your own Parks Canada oTENTik experience.
Here’s a list of where Parks Canada oTENTik’s are located.
