I was very fortunate to be a part of helping launch the remarkable Rainforest to Rockies road trip tourism initiative in British Columbia. This was years in the making and created to highlight the beauty of British Columbia from both high density cities and smaller towns.

As I traversed highways, city streets and rural roads, I discovered fantastic places to kayak and canoe that I highly recommend. Regardless of your experience level on the water, these bodies of water are welcoming and are waiting for you to enjoy them.

Here are five of the best places to kayak and canoe in British Columbia, as outlined in detail in this travel video. Each of the locations mentioned here have rental options if you don’t havre your own kayak or canoe.
Some locations have tandem kayaks if you’d like to go with a friend and most importantly, the staff at each of the locations I visited are friendly, knowledgeable and will provide you with great gear and safety equipment, ensuring your time on the water is optimized for fun.
