A Vibrant Virginia Road Trip

Here at Modern Traveller, we love road trips. A lot. The stars aligned when were offered a chance to explore vibrant Virginia in a 2024 MINI Cooper, the last of the manual transmission models.
Our trip was anchored around the famous Back of the Dragon drive route, which consists of a staggering 438 curves over 32 miles. Add in one of the best driving machines out there in a manual transmission and we eagerly agreed.

There was much more to our road trip than that, however. Our travels brought us from Toronto to Charlottesville, Wytheville, Floyd and the Back of the Dragon drive route, with some terrific stops in between.

We were shown kindness throughout our road trip, especially at the Floyd Country Store during their live music night.
There was so much history we soaked in during our time in Virginia, terrific food and drink, plus an overall feeling of being welcomed and appreciated for sharing their stories.
