Lovesick Kayaking in the Kawarthas, Canada

Peterborough and the Kawarthas have a plethora of options for those who enjoy kayaking and canoeing. There are so many places to explore and discover, from popular spots to lesser known gems. Plus, it’s the home of the famous Lock and Paddle event.

We decided to spend a day on the water and paired up with with Alex Grant, owner of Lovesick Kayaking. After spending a full day and 12 km on the water we chat with him about what his company does and why you should experience this area with him.
If you do the full day tour like we did, you’ll learn the history of the area, go the actual Lovesick Lock and a lunch at the lock is included.

Since our day with Alex, we’ve become friends and kept in touch and I’ll absolutely be returning. He also gives lessons and training sessions, which is an added bonus for those who want to expand their skill set on the water.

There are various day tours available and he also teaches to help you become a better kayaker and safely enjoy your time on the water.
