Paddling, Adventure, Music and More in Peterborough & the Kawarthas
We embark on an exciting road trip to Peterborough & the Kawarthas to experience this special part of Canada.
With the famous Lock & Paddle event through Parks Canada being our centrepiece, we spent plenty of time on the water, dined on delicious food and drink, and wrapped our visit by attending the Peterborough Musicfest.
We anchored our on-land portion by experiencing the newly renovated Canadian Canoe Museum and the aforementioned Musicfest, which is Canada’s longest running free music festival, at nearly 40 years running.
We also spent a day on the water with Alex from Lovesick Kayaking for a wonderful tour of the area and being on the water gives you unique views, especially when you travel through one of the lock systems.
It’s a 90-ish minute drive from Toronto, where I’m based and as such, can easily be made into a series of day trips or a weekend/long weekend jaunt.
Thank you to everyone who warmly welcomed us, the new friends we made, the new places we visited and to the region for a memorable few days - we'll be back!
