How to Shell & Eat a Cooked Lobster Featuring Canada's The Kilted Chef

Published February 18th, 2024

I sure do like me some lobster and there’s nothing quite as good as fresh, Nova Scotia lobster. In most cases, Nova Scotia restaurants serve them within hours of them being brought to shore.
I’ve been to Nova Scotia several times and during each visit, I make sure to find a lobster roll, whole lobster or at the least, order a portion of lobster with a meal.

During a week in Nova Scotia in early February, which happens to be lobster season, Canada's The Kilted Chef, Alain Bossé shows us how to shell a lobster as only a professional chef can. Plus, he gives us some cool tips on making the most from a lobster. From separating the lobster into four key parts to how to eat the lobsters legs and other interesting aspects, this is a must-see video on how to shell and eat a cooked lobster.

He's an ambassador for Nova Scotia's Lobster Crawl with decades of culinary experience and we thank him for this exclusive interview

Whenever you get a chance, order a whole lobster and use this video as a reference as to how to shell a lobster and maximize every ounce of meat.
